Patrick Scott Adams, a 47-year-old resident of Roaring River, has died, leaving behind a grieving family, friends and a community remembering a man who enjoyed the outdoors, working on his tractor and tending to his garden.
Adams was born June 11, 1979, in Iredell County to Lillian “Jane” Adams. He died September 2, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, according to his published obituary.
Known for his love of the outdoors, Adams found enjoyment in spending time on his tractor and growing vegetables in his garden. He also worked as a truck driver for Winebarger Trucking in Jonesville, building a life centered around his family, work and the interests he enjoyed.
Adams was married to Beverly Dawn Adams for 22 years. He is survived by his wife and three children, Eric Adams, Lillian “Lilly” Adams and Lyric Adams. He is also survived by his mother, Lillian Jane Adams; his sister, Alison Durham and her husband, Christopher; his godmother, Ramona Petty; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and extended family members.
His death marks a painful loss for those who knew him, particularly his family, who are now facing the difficult days of mourning while holding on to the memories they shared with him.
Funeral services for Patrick Scott Adams are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Poplar Spring Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. William Brown and Rev. Romie Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. before the service at the church.
Flowers will be accepted, while memorial contributions may be made to the State Employees Credit Union Scholarship for Lyric Adams.
